STEPHEN JOHN CRAINE “CRAINER” – STABLE JOCKEY

Orignally from Kildare, son of top Irish Flat Jockey Stephen Craine. “Crainer” began his riding career in the Pony Club showjumping, hunting and pony racing which was when he was bitten by the racing bug.  Stephen graduated to full time employment with Kevin Prendegast and served time as a conditional with Joe Crowley and Michael Horrigan.  His first ride under rules was in March 2000 at Lepardstown.

Stephen came to England in 2003 to take the position of Conditional Jockey for Charlie Mann.

Stephen joined the team at Heather Dalton Racing Limited full time in January 2008 looking for a new challenge after 3 successful years at Cholmondeley Farm.

With over one hundred winners under his belt Stephen is a huge asset to the yard riding out and schooling on a daily basis.


   

ANDREW CROSKERY “CROCK” – HEAD LAD

From a young age Crock spent his weekends and school holidays with Aaron Strong an Irish Point to Point Trainer.  Once leaving school he trained as a plasterer but since qualifying has followed his passion for horses and worked for Willie Mullins and Paul Nolan in Ireland.

Andrew came over the water in 2004 to work for Donald McCain Jnr and then in 2007 started work for Heather and has graduated to Head Lad.

As well as overseeing the day to day running of the yard Crock is a fantastic work rider and schools alongside Stephen.


   

PAUL MAXWELL – BOX DRIVER/LAD

Paul has recently joined the team at Mabberlys.  Previously working for Lavinia Taylor & Charlie Brooks at Uplands, Upper Lambourn and most recently for Mark Bradstock.

He has also worked for Ed James’ Racehorse Transport Company here in East Garston. Paul has come to us with a wealth of knowledge of the racing industry.

   

ROSS WISHART – CONDITIONAL JOCKEY

Ross is the newest member of our team. Ross has spent the last three years of his career under Henrietta Knights watchful eye.

He is looking forward to his course debut for Heather Dalton Racing.  Ross also spent three months over the summer with Aiden O’Brien and Mick Channon.

His interests are football, racing and boxing.

   

GEMMA SNOOK – NANNY/SECRETARY

Born in Lambourn, Gemma came to work for Heather over a year ago to look after Annabel and Harry.

With them becoming more independent Gemma has started is help Heather in the office. She is also a qualified first aider as well as sitting her transport exams.
 

   

ANNABEL DALTON – RIDER

Annabel is Heathers thirteen year old daughter. Annie is a very keen horsewoman. She rides out and works in the yard at weekends and during the holidays.

She has a racing pony called Adrian Pride and a new eventing pony called Another Island. She is a member of the Old Berks Hunt Pony Club and also enjoys cross country running, hockey and netball.
